Integral Care Foundation (ICF), formerly New Milestones Foundation, was founded in 1981 to help Integral Care achieve its vision of Healthy Living for Everyone. In the early years, ICF purchased cars and vans for Integral Care programs and oversaw the management of several Integral Care housing locations. In 2001, we experienced a year of invigoration and growth for Integral Care Foundation We put into action a plan to promote community awareness of mental health issues facing Travis County and started fundraising to increase access to mental health services. In 2002, we started the first annual Bridging the Gap event, a fundraising gala that features people sharing powerful personal stories about lived experience with mental illness, including celebrity speakers like Carrie Fisher, Patty Duke and Mariel Hemingway.
In one notable 2011 capital campaign, we successfully raised $500,000 as part of a local match to refurbish two crisis respite locations in Central Austin. Crisis respites are safe places for people recovering from a mental health crisis to receive tools that build a strong foundation for regaining health and independence, which contributes to the well-being of our community.
Thanks to your support, ICF has raised more than $1.5 million over the years to fund a wide variety of Integral Care programs and services for adults, children and families.
